A very important ambition for us right from the start of the company was to maintain a very high standard of reliability, accountability and quality. This remit led us clearly to be looking towards ISO 9001:2000 quality standard to give us a firm skeleton and framework within which to work.
We achieved the accreditation very early in the second year of the establishment
of the company and have rooted its operation very centrally in our day to day and
year on year operation. Although in the very early stages it seemed to be almost
paperwork for the sake of it, it did very quickly become evident that if we incorporated
the standard in our actual working practices and honed it down to be a true representation
of how we work, it would provide for an excellent self-
All goods inwards are checked before placing to stores or use and rejected if not being correct or of an appropriate standard, the same is true for any product or service that we provide both before it leaves the works and at point of delivery. From your initial contact all correspondence and discussions are documented and retained in day books, so if we are unclear about your requirements we can recall that information and have it to hand should we need to check back and verify with you. All checks are documented and retained with signatures and dates of inspection so we can very accurately recall all inspections.
The long term benefits to both our business and customer working relations are further enhanced by strategic development plans and annual customer satisfaction surveys. Frequent management review meetings mean we monitor and act on all positive and negative issues raised. In those same Management Review Meetings we address issues such as training and resources requirements, so all in all, every aspect of the business and customer relationships is continually monitored and the results of that mean we can keep up to date the important issues. In addition to our internal monitoring, we have an annual independent audit, the results of which determine if we retain the standard or not. In our entire history, we have never failed to maintain retention of the certification and strive to continue making this the norm.
